Helmut Buss
Helmut brings over 30 years in humanitarian organisations on different continents and in various leadership functions. He held functions in the fields of law, fundraising, ethics and conflict management. In 2021, he retired from UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) where he held the position of Director of the Ethics Office.
Helmut is now working as Executive Coach, Mediator and Senior Advisor.
Helmut has always felt passionate about contributing to making the world a better place and working with people and communities to get actively involved in contributing to that goal.
With his background in international humanitarian work, his passion for working with people and contributing to strengthening humanity and safeguarding our planet, he is committed to supporting and advancing the mission of the OBF.
Helmut is a married father of two adult daughters. He holds a Law degree, an MBA degree and a Master’s degree in Mediation. He authored and co-authored various publications related to conflict management and ethics.
